Did you know you can get messages from your guides, angels, and loved ones in spirit using just your radio? Heck, yes, you can! I love music, so this is one method my spirit family uses often to communicate with me. It’s an easy, tangible way to receive messages and, best of all, anyone can do it.
Yesterday I was driving in my car, and I was feeling a bit down. Yep, mediums have those days too. After the crazy year I’ve had, I still have my moments of doubt when I question where I’m headed and wonder if I’m strong enough to overcome a broken heart.
Whenever I feel stressed, depressed, or compressed, I turn to Spirit to direct me back to being my own happy self again, so I put out a silent request. All I did was ask for a message in a song that would help me get out of my funk, a little advice or insight hidden in the lyrics that would shed light on my situation. Then I went on driving.
Wouldn’t you know it, the next song to come on the radio was the perfect message from Spirit. I had never heard the song before, and I loved it from the get-go. It was a total chick anthem: the kind that makes you want to pump your fists with the beat on the steering wheel and sing along. It had a hint of anger and a whole lotta girl-rising energy. I knew it was intended for me the moment I heard the lyrics:
“This is my fight song … take back my life song … prove I’m alright song … “
It was just what I needed and when I needed it. It took away my sadness and infused me with optimism and drive, and reminded me of just how strong I truly am. I felt the energetic equivalent of a million supportive Spirit hands on my shoulders, and I had found a new theme song for those moments when I need to be reminded that everything will be alright.
Make it Work for You
This form of communication can work for anyone, but there are some tips and tricks you need to know:
Use it, but don’t abuse it, or you’ll lose it.
Spirit communication of any sort can be addicting. Once we realize our loved one is sending us a message, we want more messages, more often, and in a bigger way to satiate our need for connection. We don’t want it to ever stop … but it will if you ask for it too often.
Don’t Stress About the Outcome
Put out your request to Spirit just by thinking. You don’t have to say it aloud or stress about finding the right words. You don’t need to beg, and you don’t need to repeat yourself just incase they didn’t hear you the first time (they always hear you). The best thing you can do is forget about the request, that is to say go on with the task at hand (driving the car, washing the dishes, whatever you’re doing). Just go on with your day, and let Spirit’s response get your attention.
Don’t Push It
If you’re frantically tuning that dial in search of your message, you’re going to miss it. Let go of the reigns and let Spirit bring the message to you.
Be Open to Receive
Spirit is remarkably creative when it comes to communicating with us, so don’t expect it to happen according to your expectations. Instead of being on your car radio, it might be a song on the radio in the car next to you at the red light, it might be a jingle in an advertisement, or it might be in the commentary of the disc jockey. Keep your mind open to all the possibilities and trust that you will know it when you hear it.
Be in the Now
Don’t get caught up thinking the song will be the one you danced to at your wedding. The content or feeling of your song will represent what they want you to know now. They know the memories, you know the memories, so there is no need to dwell. They want to communicate with you about what’s going on right now. Think of it this way, if your daughter were to call home from her backpacking trip in Italy (lucky girl), you’re not going to waste precious cell phone minutes reminiscing about her 6th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s. Heck no! You’re going to talk about what’s happening now and share sentiments like “I miss you,” “be safe,” and “I’m so proud of you.” It’s the same with Spirit.
Don’t Limit the Outcome
Even if your loved one didn’t listen to music, they can still use this method to communicate with you. It’s important to note the song they choose for you is NOT likely to be a song they listened to in life. Spirit chooses songs based on content and its ability to efficiently get the intended message to you. It’s not a dinner party playlist, after all, it’s a message.
You may need to wait a few minutes or a few hours. You may get out of your car thinking it didn’t work and moments later you hear the song intended for you blaring at the next-door neighbor’s pool party. Give Spirit time to get those wheels in motion; it will be worth the wait.
t’s easy to get caught up in cynicism and doubt, but it’s important to trust that instinct that says, “This is my message.” Spirit works hard to put that song before you; share your gratitude by not doubting the authenticity of it.
Give it a try. See what happens. Put out your request to Spirit right now! Review the tips above one more time and then wait to see what Spirit has to say to you.
